Some might say we have been looking at fashion and sustainability the wrong way up: exploring a complex system by trying to improve components parts in isolation, rather than looking at how the whole works together.
Fashion Ecologies tries to change all this. In a small way. By looking in depth at tightly bounded geographical areas – starting in Macclesfield in the North West of England – we are seeking to understand the fashion-related relationships and interactions in context. And then to use this original knowledge to direct future work in new ways and places.
First findings of the pilot work will be available on the Fashion Ecologies website over the next months.
